Boost your career in home performance by becoming proficient in the connection between housing and health. This course prepares you for BPI's Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) Certification and the Healthy Housing Principles (HHP) Certificate of Knowledge.
Most people spend a majority of their lives indoors, yet the air can be up to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. Many everyday items could make you and your family sick. This course will help learners identify home hazards, giving you the knowledge necessary to recommend and use the proper ways to mitigate those hazards.

This course will help learners identify home hazards, giving you the knowledge necessary to recommend and use the proper ways to mitigate those hazards.
The Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) certification builds on the BPI Building Analyst (BA), Building Analyst Professional (BA-P), Multifamily Building Analyst, Energy Auditor (EA), or Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certifications. The HHE was developed in partnership with the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI). A Healthy Home Evaluator assesses home-based environmental health and safety hazards and provides a prioritized list of recommendations to address those hazards.
Testing fees are not included in course enrollment fee. Exam fees will be collected when they student is ready to take the exam. The HHP exam fee is $109. The HHE exam fee is $450.

Learning Objectives
- Conduct comprehensive healthy home evaluations by integrating qualitative observations with quantitative diagnostics to assess and characterize home-based environmental health and safety hazards according to industry standards.
- Develop and communicate prioritized recommendations to address existing and potential hazards while considering occupant needs, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
