James Payne has spent spent over a decade in renewable energy —designing systems, managing field crews, and running day-to-day operations on utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage assets. That hands-on experience now informs his work as VP of Business Development at REMS Group, where he helps investors and asset owners make sense of the technical realities of energy storage.

James has touched every stage of the project lifecycle—from design and construction through operations and asset management—and brings a strong perspective on quality management and what it actually takes to keep assets performing over the long term. He's worked on projects for some of the largest utilities and asset owners in the country, with deep experience in EMS systems and a reputation for translating technical complexity into clear, actionable insight.
